Home for the Holidays: Helping Rescue Dogs Find Their Way

The holiday season is full of sparkle and celebration, but for many rescue dogs, it can also be a time of uncertainty. As intakes increase during winter, every new face is a reminder of how essential compassionate communities are. Rescue groups work tirelessly to give each dog a second chance. The holidays highlight what these animals deserve most: warmth, safety, and a family who sees their worth.

That’s why our fosters are the heart of rescue, especially this time of year. Opening your home can mean the difference between a kennel and a couch. Rescue never sleeps—teams are out there every day arranging transports, answering emergency calls, and advocating for dogs who can’t speak for themselves. During the holidays, when giving and gratitude take center stage, choosing to foster is one of the most impactful gifts you can offer. Fill out our Foster Application if you want to share your home this winter.

Our final event of the year, a holiday gift show, is December 13-14. After that, the incredible event team will be hibernating for a couple months. Check our event page after the new year for all the 2026 events.  Follow our Facebook page for adoptable dogs and current news.
